On Nov. 22, 2017 approximately 2:40 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a 2007 Chevrolet minivan on County Road 7 near Sideroad 10, Township of Centre Wellington.

Police attended the scene and spoke with the female driver. While speaking with her, officers formed the opinion that she was under the influence of alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for further testing.

Twenty-eight-year-old Colleen Simpson of Guelph has been charged with drive with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mL of blood. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Dec. 22, 2017. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
