A male who entered a house at 2 a.m. and claimed he was interested in buying it has been arrested.

Just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 23, a south end resident was awakened by lights being turned on inside the house. She exited her bedroom and saw a man standing in the hallway. The man said he knew the house was for sale and decided to have a look around, entering through an unlocked door. He left when asked to do so.

The man was identified through subsequent investigation and Monday turned himself in to Guelph police.

A 30-year-old Guelph man is charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling.
