Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking motorist to avoid high water levels and driving through roads submerged in water. Due to the higher than normal temperatures and large amounts of rain and run off, Wellington County OPP are receiving numerous reports of roads covered with water. There have been numerous roads temporarily closed throughout the county.
OPP would like to remind everyone that it only takes small amount of water to dislodge your vehicle. Six inches of moving water could be enough to easily wash you and your vehicle off the road. It is also extremely difficult to judge the depth of water on a roadway. Please be safe and avoid crossing over roadways if water flows over it.
