A Guelph man faces weapons charges after a knife was pulled Monday during a downtown disturbance.

Approximately 12:20 p.m. Monday, police were called to the area of St. George’s Square after a male involved in an argument brandished a small knife. He fled before police arrived but was located downtown approximately one hour later and arrested.

A 27-year-old is charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was held to appear in bail court Tuesday.
