One fatality reported in Wellington Road 124 collision (2:30 p.m. update)

2:30 p.m. update

The second person's injuries have been reduced to minor and they have been transported to local hospital by ambulance.

1:55 p.m. update

OPP report that a tractor trailer collided with a Dodge sedan head on and one person has been pronounced dead at scene. Another has sustained serious injuries.

The name of the deceased will be withheld until next of kin is notified.

Police continue to investigate the collision.

Original 1:15 p.m. OPP news release

On Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wellington Road 124, Eramosa. Initial reports indicate a tractor trailer collided with a passenger vehicle and at least two people have sustained life threatening injuries.

OPP as well as Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Services are currently at scene.

Wellington Road 124 traffic will be diverted at Jones Base Line and Watson Road.

Police continue to investigate the collision.
