Luring investigation leads to charges for Guelph man

Police conducted an investigation involving a 37-year-old Guelph man who was luring a female under the age of 16 years old

On Nov. 24, 2017 members of the Guelph Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the Sexual Assault Unit entered into an investigation involving a 37-year-old Guelph man who was luring a female under the age of 16 years old. On Nov. 25, 2017 Dennis Higgins was arrested at his residence located in the north end of the city. He was charged with the following offences:

  • Luring
  • Make arrangement to commit a sexual offence against a person under 16 years of age
  • Invitation to sexual touching
  • Make sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age;
  • Communicate with anyone for the purpose of obtaining sexual services under 18 years of age

A search warrant was executed at his residence where a variety of computer systems and digital devices were seized.

Dennis Higgins was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in bail court today, Nov. 28, 2017.
