Man accused of sexually assaulting teen

Sexual assault arrest

On the afternoon of February 23 at approximately 4 p.m., a teenage girl was walking in the area of York Road and Watson Road when she was approached by a man that she did not know.

The man sexually assaulted her and quickly ran off.

The young woman was not physically hurt in any way and police were immediately contacted with a description of the suspect.  

That suspect was located a short time and distance away by police and arrested for sexual assault.

Twenty-one-year-old Don Ekanayake of Guelph was later released and is to appear before a Guelph court on April 4, 2017.
