The Guelph Police Service says it has made arrests in relation to a recent stolen vehicle investigation.
A motor vehicle was reported stolen from outside of a Mount Forest residence on Oct. 23 at 3:30 a.m.
The vehicle is valued at $2,000 to $3,000 and also contained numerous items, including a wallet.
Guelph Police officers found the vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Willow Road and Edinburgh Road North at 12:19 p.m. the same day and observed an adult male and adult female walking towards it. They were subsequently arrested.
During a search, police alledge that the man was in possession 0.66 grams of Cocaine valued at $60.
Further investigation revealed that the female had recently been in a nearby store purchasing lottery tickets while carrying the stolen wallet.
A 36-year-old Ariss male and a 28-year-old Mount Forest female have been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.
The male has been additionally charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Breach probation
They will both appear in court on Feb. 16, 2021.
