Man arrested after being restrained by citizens

He was found going through a car, and in possession of suspected cocaine and crystal meth, police say

On Dec. 12, 2018 at approximately 6:54 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a residence on Glasgow Street in regard to two citizens who caught a male going through their car. The citizens had restrained the male until police arrived.

As a result, a 45-year-old male was arrested for theft under $5,000, four counts of possession of stolen property, assault, two counts of breaching a recognizance, and two counts of breaching his probation order. The male also had what is believed to be cocaine and crystal methamphetamine on him. He was further charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The male is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13, 2018.
