On April 18 at approximately 10:08 a.m., police attended to a local business in the area of York Road and Kingsmill Avenue regarding a suspected overdose.

A 41-year-old Cambridge male was reported to have been unconscious in the driver’s seat of his parked motor vehicle with the keys in his pants pocket. An IV track mark was located on the male’s inner arm, which was consistent with suspected drug use.

Police conducted a search of the motor vehicle and located a syringe with a yellow substance and two burnt cooking spoons as well as a small baggie containing 3.6 grams of suspected yellow fentanyl.

Police subsequently arrested the male for operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs. The accused was transported to the Guelph General Hospital for medical assessment as his symptoms were consistent with drug use and a blood demand was issued.
