Man released in morning and arrested again for south-end robbery

On Sunday December 11, 2016 at approximately 11:20 p.m., a south–end store manager approached a man who was trying to enter the store after it was closed.

The man then followed the manager out to his vehicle where he assaulted the manager and demanded his wallet.

Another staff member came to the managers’ aid and was able to fend the male off. The store manager was shaken up but received no injuries during this incident.

The man then left on foot and was located by police a short distance away and arrested.

After being transported to the station the male then became violent and assaultive with police.

This same man had just been released from custody that same morning after he was arrested on December 10th for breaking into another Guelph business while stealing scrap metal.

A 31 year-old Guelph man is charged with mischief, uttering threats, robbery and two counts of assault police. He was held in custody to appear for a bail hearing later today.
