Man arrested for shoplifting booze

Arrested downtown two days after stealing liquor in the south end

Tuesday at 7:45 p.m., a man entered a store located near the intersection of Clair Road East and Gordon Street and proceeded to select two bottles of alcohol valued at $31.45 each, placed them in his backpack and left the store.

On Thursday police located the male in the downtown core and he was subsequently arrested.

A 38-year-old Guelph man has been charged with:

- Theft under $5,000
- Breach probation

He will appear in court on Oct. 7.
