On June 23, 2019, at 3:40 p.m., a 29-year-old Guelph man stole a bottle of alcohol from a downtown business. At 4:45 p.m., the man was located on Carden Street by police. He attempted to flee but was arrested. He was charged with theft under, escape lawful custody and breach probation and released on a court Undertaking with a pending court date.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., this same male entered a downtown establishment and stole a bottle of beer from a 56 year old Guelph male standing at the bar. As the male tried to get his beer back, the man struck him in the face with the bottle causing a cut that required medical attention. The man then left with the beer. He was located at 11:20 p.m. at another downtown establishment where he had ordered and consumed alcohol that he had no means to pay for.

He was arrested and is additionally charged with robbery, obtain food by fraud, breach officer in charge undertaking and 3 counts of breach probation. He will appear in bail court today.
