Man assaulted near University Village Park

On April 18 at approximately 5 a.m., a 47-year-old male was reported to have been attacked and robbed by a group of approximately four to five individuals while he was walking in the area of University Village Park.

The victim reported to have had something held up against his neck, was hit over the head and cut with what was believed to be a straight razor. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to the Guelph General Hospital to be further assessed. Police are still investigating the incident.
