At 8:38 a.m. on Jan. 21, 2019, Guelph Police were called to the intersection of Edinburgh and Ironwood where there was reports of a motor vehicle collision. Investigation alleges an SUV driven by a 34-year-old Guelph female was southbound in the northbound center lane. A school bus was northbound in that lane and the two collided.

As a result of the collision, the 55-year-old Kitchener bus driver received minor injuries. There were several high school kids in the school bus that were not injured.

The SUV driver was charged with careless driving and no clear view to the front under the Highway Traffic Act.

Guelph Police are asking everyone to ensure that all ice and snow is cleared from their windshield and rear window. The 10 extra minutes you take to do this, could prevent a collision.
