On Dec.  25, 2017 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to St. David Street North, Fergus when a vehicle was stolen with a child in it. The child and vehicle were recovered shortly thereafter without harm and the thief fled, eluding capture. Photos were released to the public in the hopes someone might be able to identify the suspect.

With the help of the public, Wellington County OPP has charged 28-year-old Bradley Arnold Jordan of Guelph. He has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property (over $5000), dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to comply with undertaking, and failing to comply with recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code. He currently stands in custody.
