Guelph police report a Kitchener male faces charges after assaulting and spitting at a hospital security guard Monday.

Just before 10 a.m. police were dispatched to a reported disturbance at Guelph General Hospital. A male was in the process of being discharged from hospital when he jumped on a security guard’s back, pushed him into glass doors and spit at him. Other staff were able to detain the male and there were no injuries reported.

A 60-year-old Kitchener male is charged with assault. He will appear in a Guelph court July 30.
