A Milton male faces a hefty fine after driving around a crossing guard in Guelph Wednesday morning.
A Guelph police officer was keeping an eye on the intersection of Speedvale Avenue East and Stevenson Street North, where there have been several recent complaints of drivers passing school buses with their flashing lights activated, police report.
While the officer watched, a motor vehicle drove around a crossing guard who was standing in the crosswalk with a stop sign raised.
A 62-year-old Milton male is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with disobeying a crossing guard, which comes with a $365 fine and four demerit points.
