A man faces two assault charges after another male was assaulted twice, including once when he was speaking to police about an earlier incident.
On Tuesday, approximately 5:45 p.m., a man was sitting in St. George’s Square when he was approached by another man. The second man accused him of uttering a racial slur before punching the victim in the mouth. A struggle ensued during which the suspect mimicked shooting the victim in the head.
On Wednesday afternoon the victim was speaking to Guelph police about the incident when the accused walked up and placed a hand on the victim’s throat in a choking manner.
A 19-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with two counts of assault. He was held for a bail hearing.
