Man dead after boom lift, vehicle collide in Erin

TOWN OF ERIN - On Sept. 24, 2020, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Trafalgar Road North (Wellington Road 24) and Sideroad 10 in the Town of Erin. It was reported that a boom lift and a passenger vehicle had collided.

Emergency Service responded. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 59-years-old man from Georgetown, was pronounced dead at scene. The operator of the boom did not require medical care.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and the roadway will remain closed until further notice.
