Man faces two counts of impaired driving following Willow Road collision

On Monday, May 15, 2017 at 6:13 p.m. a 2002 Ford Explorer was driving northbound on Imperial Road and made a left turn onto Willow Road where it struck a southbound Volkswagon Jetta in the intersection.

The Jetta was operated by a 38-year-old Guelph woman and there was another 39-year-old Guelph woman in the vehicle as well as their two eight-year-old daughters. The two mothers suffered serious injuries and the two young girls suffered some minor injuries. All were transported to hospital and later released.

Devon Latendre, a 29-year-old Waterloo man who was driving the Explorer, was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drugs causing bodily harm and two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily injury. He was later released to appear before the court on June 27, 2017.
