Man found sleeping behind the wheel in possession of suspected meth, cannabis, OPP say

On Sept. 8, 2019, at approximately 8:50 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a suspicious vehicle occurrence on Durham Street East involving a pick-up truck idling in the area for approximately two hours.

Officers located the vehicle and woke up the driver who was [allegedly] sleeping behind the wheel. Investigation revealed that the driver was [allegedly] in possession of a large quantity of marihuana and methamphetamine and was placed under arrest.

Bryce Johnathon Shaw, 20-years-old of Grey Highlands has been charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of over 30 grams of dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place and
  • Possession of 1 or more cannabis plants in a public place contrary to the Cannabis Act

The accused will appear in Guelph Criminal Court on Oct. 11, 2019, to answer to the charges.
