Man nabbed for breaking into vehicles found with suspected purple fentanyl

Police believe that additional vehicles were entered over night in the area of Kent and Glasgow Streets

On April 9, 2019 at 7:13 a.m., a male party was arrested in the area of Kent Street and Glasgow Street for trespassing on a nearby property. The male was found to be in possession of stolen property from three vehicles in the area. The male was further found in possession of substances believed to be crystal meth and purple fentanyl as well as a spring-assisted knife.

The 39-year-old Guelph man was charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

It is believed at this time that there are additional vehicles that were entered over night in this area and suspected stolen property has been seized. If anyone had any items stolen from their vehicles in the area of Kent Street and Glasgow Street overnight April 9, 2019, please contact Cst.
