On the evening February 10, a Guelph man reported to police that he had been assaulted in a downtown alleyway by a male and a female who were known to him.

During the assault, the man’s dog was stolen. The man was not injured but was clearly worried about getting his golden retriever back.

Further investigation led police to a Queen Street address in Kitchener the following day and with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Service, the male and female were located and arrested.

Police also went to another Kitchener address and were able to recover his dog.

Two young persons under the age of 18 years were charged with robbery and released to appear before a Guelph court at a later date.
