A woman was arrested Tuesday morning after police say she was spotted wearing a sweater stolen from a downtown business the day before.

Monday around 6:30 a.m., several parties attended a business in the area of Farquhar Street and Neeve Street and gained entry through the front doors. A quantity of clothing was stolen.

On Tuesday morning, officers were conducting patrols in the downtown area when they recognized a woman captured on surveillance video during the break and enter. She was stopped and was found to be wearing a sweater stolen from the business. A search incident to arrest revealed a small amount of suspected fentanyl.

A 31-year-old Guelph woman is charged with break and enter, possessing stolen property, possessing a controlled substance and three counts of breaching probation. She was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
