A Guelph man is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 after police responded to a medical call about a person reportedly “passed out” in a car.

Police joined in a 911 call at about 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, responding to a Waterloo Avenue parking lot, explains a news release.

The male told paramedics he is on medication following a recent surgery.

While on the way to hospital for assessment, police received a call from a resident of the area reporting the vehicle involved in the medical call had been stolen overnight.

Further investigation revealed the male hadn’t been complying with an undertaking which requires him to be home between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless in the company of his parents.

A 40-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing stolen property over $5,000 and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
