Minto man accused of being 'heavily intoxicated,' fleeing into a residence after crashing into a ditch

Police say the accused also spat mucus through the rear of the police vehicle at officers

TOWN OF MINTO - On Feb. 13, 2020 at approximately 3:55 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle in the ditch with a possible impaired driver on Wellington Road 87 in the Town of Minto.

Officers located the vehicle however, the occupants had left the scene. Police followed the footprints in the snow up to a residence and located the driver.

It was confirmed that the heavily intoxicated person did not have permission or authority to be in the house and was placed under arrest. 

While enroute to the OPP Operation Centre the accused spat mucus throughout the rear of the police vehicle.

As a result, Dustin Robert Zolnai, 31-years-old of Grey Highlands has been charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and mischief contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on March 20, 2020 to answer to the charges.
