Guelph Police Service dealt with 654 calls for service over the weekend

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Break and enter
On April 5, 2019, the Guelph Police went a Victoria Road North store for a break and enter. The culprit(s) gained entry sometime overnight, to an adjacent business and then went through the wall to access the store. A theft of tobacco products is reported.

Break and enter
On April 6, 2019, at 6:40 p.m., the Guelph Police went a Terry Boulevard residence for a break and enter. A resident arrived home to a man running from the house. Investigation discovered that entry had been gained through a side door that had its window smashed. The male was last seen heading in the direction of Stevenson Street.

Car thefts
On April 7, 2019 a black Toyota Camry, plate AYBE 287 was stolen from an underground parking garage on Paisley Road.

On April 8, 2019 a white Ford Explorer, plate CDHY 970 was stolen from the driveway of an Inkerman Street residence.

Traffic stop leads to arrest
On April 7, 2019 at 8:45 p.m., Guelph Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a motor vehicle. The driver failed to stop and made some maneuvers putting other cars at risk before finally stopping on Alexandra Street. The male driver was arrested.

The 30-year-old Guelph man was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, breach probation and drive prohibited. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive under suspension and use plates not authorized and under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with drive no insurance. He will appear in court on May 24, 2019.

13 arrested on warrants over the weekend
A 28-year-old Guelph man arrested on the strength of two Waterloo warrants. Subsequent search discovered a quantity of crystal meth. He was further charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach recognizance. He was later turned over to Waterloo Police.

A 34-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for fail to appear. A subsequent search discovered break and enter tools and stolen property. He was further charged with two counts of possession of stolen property and possession of break-in instruments. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 25-year-old Guelph female arrested on a warrant for two counts of breach probation. She was held for a bail hearing.

A 28-year-old Guelph man arrested on warrant for theft under and breach recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 42-year-old Guelph man wanted on a warrant for fail to attend court, break and enter and theft of electricity. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 39-year-old Guelph man wanted on a warrant for fail to re-attend court. He will appear in court on May 24, 2019.

A 36-year-old Guelph man wanted on a warrant for two counts of breach probation. He will appear in court on May 29, 2019.

A 57-year-old man arrested at Toronto Pearson International Airport on a Guelph warrant for make child pornography and fail to re-attend court. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 41-year-old Guelph woman wanted on a warrant for two counts of breach recognizance and two counts of breach probation. She was held for a bail hearing.

A 17-year-old Brampton male and a 39-year-old Brampton man were arrested by Halton Regional Police on Guelph warrants for theft over $5,000. They will appear in court on May 15, 2019.

A 31-year-old Guelph woman arrested on a warrant for possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in instruments. She will appear in court on May 28, 2019.

A 45-year-old Guelph man wanted for two counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on May 24, 2019.
