Disturbance call, traffic stop, vehicle collisions, calls for service

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Dec. 2, police attended to a disturbance at north-end between a group of people that were familiar with each other. Investigation revealed that one of the persons involved was bound to abide by release conditions from a criminal charge from Hamilton.

Phoenix Erica Dyer, a 19-year-old from Millgrove, Ontario was charged with breach of undertaking and was later released to appear in Guelph court at a later date.

On the afternoon of Dec. 1 a traffic officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Edinburgh Road and Gordon Street and additional investigation revealed that the 42-year-old male driver from Hamilton was wanted on an outstanding warrant by the Hamilton Police Service for assault and sexual assault. The male was apprehended and given over to the HPS to be dealt with in that jurisdiction.

Over the weekend police responded to 12 vehicle collisions including the stolen vehicle mentioned above. No injuries were reported in any of these collisions.

Over the course of the weekend, the Guelph Police Service responded to 599 calls for service.
