Theft, disqualified driver, weapons charges

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On June 8, 2018, a male attended a business in downtown Guelph and stole some merchandise.  The male was located and arrested for theft under $5000. 

Edward Dyer, a 49-year-old Guelph male, appeared in court on June 9, 2018.  This is Dyer's fifth time being arrested for theft since May 29, 2018.

On June 2, 2018, Guelph Police commenced an investigation into a theft at a north end business.  As a result of investigation, on June 9, 2018 Richard Simard, a 36-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 as well as breaching his probation order.  Simard is to appear in court on July 20, 2018.

On June 9, 2018 at approximately 11 p.m., Guelph Police were called to the area of Sunset Road in regard to a disturbance.  As a result of the incident, Jeffrey Vigneau, a 28-year-old Guelph male was arrested for assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breaching his probation order.  Vigneau is to appear in court on July 20, 2018.  The victim in this matter received minor injuries.

On June 10, 2018 at approximately 11:05 a.m., while on routine patrol, Guelph Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Wellington Street and Gordon Street.  As a result of the vehicle stop, Sean Nicholson, a 46-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with two counts of drive disqualified. Nicholson is to appear in court on July 20, 2018.
