Guelph Police responded to 664 calls for service over the weekend

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Citizen interrupts break and enter
On June 15, 2019 at approximately 3:35 p.m., a male was observed entering a garage on Municipal Street, Guelph. He was confronted by the owner and fled the area. A 23-year-old Guelph male was located a short time later and was arrested. He is charged with break and enter and will appear in court on July 23, 2019.

Impaired arrest
On June 16, 2019, Guelph Police were on patrol in the area of Wellington Street and Gordon Street. Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically and the vehicle was stopped. Further investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking. A 19-year-old Guelph male was arrested and is charged with impaired operation. He will appear in court on July 2, 2019.

Speed enforcement
On June 14, 2019 at approximately 1 p.m., officers conducted a speed enforcement initiative on Kortright Road West, Guelph. In just over an hour, officers gave 11 tickets out.

“Life doesn’t have a reset button, normal speed can meet your need.”

There were 664 calls for service from Friday, June 14, 2019 at 7 a.m., to Monday, June 17, 2019.
