A Brampton woman faces numerous charges related to fraud

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Utter threat – arrest
On March 9, 2018, the Guelph Police Service (a High School Resource Officer) initiated an investigation into allegations of threats made by an individual who was no longer a student. Ethan Jackson, a 19-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering a threat to cause death/harm. He was given an April 17, 2018 court date.

Fraud arrest
On March 11, 2018, Guelph Police were called to a financial institution and initiated a fraud investigation into a female customer. It is alleged the female was attempting to defraud the financial institution. As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Brampton female was charged with the following:
    •    Two counts of uttering a forged document
    •    Three counts of possessing fraudulent identity documents
    •    Three counts of possessing a forged credit card
    •    Six counts of breaching an Order of Recognizance.

The female was held for a bail hearing.

Calls for service
Between 7 a.m. on March 9, 2018 and 7 a.m. on March 12, 2018, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 581 calls for service.
