The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:
Collision
On March 25, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Guelph Police were called to the intersection of Kortright Road West and Edinburgh Road South, where there was a report of a collision. Investigation alleges a black Acura, driven by a 19-year-old Brampton male, was turning left onto Kortright Road West. A black Nissan, driven by a 20-year-old Guelph female, was driving straight on Edinburgh Road South through the intersection. The black Acura turned and the two vehicles collided.
As a result of the collision, both drivers received minor injuries. The 19-year-old Brampton driver was charged with turn not in safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
Unwanted person – arrest
On Friday, March 23, 2018 at approximately 12 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a business on Gordon Street for a reported unwanted person. (It is alleged that) a male refused to leave the property, caused a disruption and damaged property. The male was charged with mischief under $5,000, breach of probation and fail to leave premise when directed.
Joseph O’Kane, a 30-year-old Guelph male, was given an April 13, 2018 court date.
Calls for service
Between 7 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018 and 7 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 the Guelph Police Service dealt with 541 calls for service.
