Guelph Police Service dealt with 583 calls for service over the weekend

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Suspicious person – arrest
On March 2, 2018, Guelph police received a call from a concerned citizen who stated there was a suspicious male on Division Street that appeared to be checking cars to see if they were unlocked. Police arrived on scene and located the male. As a result of the subsequent investigation, Robert Aubry, a 35-year-old Guelph man, was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property and breaching his Officer in Charge Undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing.

Assault arrest
On March 2, 2018, Guelph police were called to a Waverly Drive address to assist with an ongoing noise complaint situation that started on March 1, 2018. It is alleged that there was an argument between two individuals and one of the individuals was assaulted by another. Bryan Littleton, a 35-year-old Guelph man, was arrested and charged with assault and breaching his probation order. He was given an April 17, 2018 court date.

Noise complaint – arrest
On March 3, 2018, Guelph police were called to a Victoria Road address for a noise complaint. The specific address has been an ongoing issue for several months, where police and/or bylaw officers have attended multiple times. Daniel Morris, a 43-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with mischief as a result of the investigation. He was held for a bail hearing.

Transportation fraud arrest
On February 12, 2018, Guelph police were called by a cab driver who reported a fare had taken off without paying. Investigation lead to the identification of the suspect. On March 3, 2018 at 7:30 p.m., Colbi-Ann Evans, a 23-year-old Guelph woman, was arrested and charged with transportation fraud. She was given an April 17, 2018 court date.

Disturbance call
On March 4, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., Guelph police were called to a disturbance at a residential building on Carden Street. Joseph Stafford, a 36-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with breaching his probation order. He was given an April 20, 2018 court date.

Break and enter investigations
On March 3, 2018, the Guelph Police went to a Ferman Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a shed overnight, and stole a generator. On March 4, 2018, the Guelph Police went to a Gordon Street residential building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered storage lockers overnight, and stole items. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact Cst. P. Hinchliffe 519-824-1212 at ext. 7408. On March 4, 2018, the Guelph Police went to a Memorial Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a shed overnight, and stole tools. Between 7 a.m. on March 2, 2018 and 7 a.m. on March 5, 2018, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 583 calls for service.
