Impaired driving

On Apr. 30 at approximately 12:20 a.m., police stopped a man for speeding on Gordon Street in the south end of Guelph. While the investigating officer interacted with the driver, he formed the grounds to believe that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle may be impaired by alcohol. The male registered a fail on an approved roadside screening device and was arrested.

Derek McKenna, a 35-year-old from Morriston, was charged with operate motor vehicle with over .08mgs of alcohol and was also served with a 90-day administrative driver’s license suspension. He was later released to appear in court on May 12, 2017.
