Assault, collision, stolen vehcile recovered, calls for service

The following news releases were issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On April 30, 2018 Guelph Police were called to a Westwood Road address, where there was a report of a stolen vehicle. Investigation led to the identification of the suspect and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

On May 11, 2018, while on routine patrol, officers located the suspect in the area of Wyndham Street North and Woolwich Street. Jacob Duquette, a 24-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft and three counts of breaching his probation order. He was held for a bail hearing, which occurred on May 12, 2018.

On May 11, 2018, Guelph police were called to a disturbance in the south end. As a result of the subsequent investigation, a 17 year old Guelph male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault, mischief under $5000, possession of a controlled substance and seven counts of breaching a YCJA (Young Criminal Justice Act) probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.

The victim in the incident did not receive any serious injuries.

On May 12, 2018 at approximately 2:00am, Guelph police were called to a downtown business, where a staff member had been assaulted. Investigation led to the identification of the suspect. Shyanne Vincent, a 21 year old Innisfil female, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. She was given a June 15, 2018 court date. The victim in the incident did not receive any injuries.

From 7 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 until Monday, May 14, 2018 at 7 a.m., the Guelph Police Service dealt with 558 calls for service.
