On October 12, 2018, Guelph Police received a BOLO (be on the look out) for a possible impaired driver that was coming into the city.

Impaired arrest

On Oct. 12, 2018, Guelph Police received a BOLO (be on the look out) for a possible impaired driver that was coming into the city.

Police attended to the area of the registered owner’s address, and a short time later observed the vehicle and driver in question. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who was then arrested for Impaired. The driver provide two suitable samples of his breath at the station and registered over three times the legal. The male was further charged with Over 80.

Randall Baker, a 56-year-old Guelph male is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27, 2018.

Stolen vehicle arrest

On Oct. 12, 2018 at approximately 12:27 p.m., Guelph Police were on patrol in the area of Silvercreek Parkway and Westwood Road when they observed a stolen vehicle. The female driver stopped the vehicle and fled into a townhouse complex on Silvercreek Parkway.

Through investigation, Police located the female and she was arrested without incident. 

Ashley Stokman, a 23-year-old Guelph female was charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, Occupant of a Stolen Vehicle, and Possession of Identity Documents. Stokman is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 23, 2018.

Mischief arrest

On Oct. 13, 2018 at approximately 1:20 a.m., Guelph Police were called to the downtown core in regard to a male smashing windows and vehicles with a stem of a lamp. The male broke two glass windows of separate businesses as well damaging a vehicle.

Michael McArthur, a 35-year-old Guelph male was charged with three counts of Mischief, as well as breaching his Probation Order. McArthur appeared in court on Oct. 13, 2018.

Hit and run impaired arrest

On Oct. 14, 2018 at approximately 2:52 a.m., Guelph Police were called to the area of Dawson Road and Woodlawn Road in regard to a hit and run. Police located the responsible vehicle parked in the area of Woodlawn Road and Edinburgh Road.

Police located the male and after speaking with him, the male was arrested for Impaired.

Simon Rampargash, a 23-year-old Wilmot Township male was also charged with Over 80. Rampargash is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26, 2018.

From Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 6:00 a.m., until Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at 6 a.m., Guelph Police dealt with 610 calls for service.
