On October 21, 2016 at 3:13 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Farley Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the home through a window sometime during the day and stole electronics, cash and jewellery.

On Oct. 21, 2016 at 1:34 p.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a break and enter to a Harrison Avenue residence. The culprit(s) entered the garage and stole several frozen food items and beverages from the fridge.

On Oct. 22, 2016 at 9:57 p.m., the Guelph Police went to an Ontario Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the basement unit and stole a men’s 22 speed Casati bicycle, blue and white in colour.

Recovered stolen vehicle

On Oct. 24, 2016 at 3:50 a.m., a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder was located in the parking lot at 10 Woodlawn Road east. The vehicle had sustained damage and was not drivable. The vehicle was found to have been reported stolen from Oakridge Crescent on October 16, 2016.

Impaired driver arrested

On Oct. 22, 2016 at 10:50 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Auden Road and Magdalena Drive. Police spoke with the male driver, determined that he was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Roderick Mackinnon, 38 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on Dec. 9, 2016.

Bikes stolen

Over the weekend the Guelph Police received thirteen reports from Guelph residents about bikes being stolen. In many cases the bikes were locked but the locks were cut off. Please ensure that you report stolen property online.

Theft from cars

Over the weekend the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Garibaldi Street, Clinton Street, Drohan Drive and London Road Eats.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
