From Friday, October 26, at 6:00 a.m., until Monday, October 29, at 6:00 a.m., Guelph Police dealt with 634 calls for servic

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Break and enter arrest
On October 27, 2018, Guelph police were called to an apartment complex on Carden Street in regard to a break and enter and mischief.

Through investigation it was learned that Arthur DAVIS, a 34-year-old Guelph male, had broken into a residence in the apartment complex, clogged the drains, turned the water on and flooded the unit.  DAVIS was also observed damaging the intercom system.

DAVIS was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Mischief Over $5000, Mischief Under $5000, breaching his Probation Order, and failing to Comply with a Recognizance.  DAVIS appeared in court on October 28, 2018.

Impaired arrest
On October 28, 2018 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Guelph Police received a call in regard to an erratic driver in the area of the downtown.  Police located the vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted.  Police spoke with the driver and a roadside was conducted. 

As a result, a 17-year-old Cambridge youth was arrested and charged with Over 80, as well as Yong Driver-B.A.C. above zero, and Novice Driver- B.A.C. above zero.

Over 2x the legal limit
On October 28, 2018 at approximately 7:53 a.m., Guelph police were alerted by multiple callers about a possible impaired driver.  The vehicle was travelling northbound on the Hanlon Expressway in the southbound lanes by Laird Road. The vehicle was observed travelling at various speeds, and then running a red light at Westwood Road.

Police stopped the vehicle on Westwood Road, and after speaking with the male driver, he was arrested for Impaired Driving.  The male was also charged with Over 80, as his readings were well over two times the legal limit.

Thanh Tuan NGUYEN, 34-year-old Guelph male, is scheduled to appear in court on November 16, 2018.

Cocaine and Heroin arrest
On October 28, 2018, Guelph Police were called to a hotel on Scottsdale Drive in regard to some unwanted guests.  Police attended to the hotel and located the unwanted parties.

After speaking with the parties, one male was arrested for two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.  The controlled substances are believed to be Cocaine and Heroin, and have a street value of approximately $7000.

A 34-year-old London male is scheduled to appear in court on October 29, 2018.
