Guelph Police dealt with 672 calls for service over the weekend

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Obstruct police - arrest
On Sept. 17, 2018 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Guelph Police observed a male riding a bicycle in the area of Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road. Police spoke with the male who identified himself.

Through investigation, it was learned that the male was not in fact the name he identified himself with. The male then fled the area on foot. K-9 was deployed in the area and the male was tracked to a back yard on Sleeman Avenue hiding in a shed.

As a result, a 31-year-old Guelph man was charged with improper bicycle lighting, cyclist fail to stop/identify self, obstruct police, break and enter, trespass by night and breaching his recognizance. The male is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 17, 2018.
