From Friday, September 7, at 6:00 a.m., until Monday, September 10, 2018 at 6:00 a.m., Guelph Police dealt with 645 calls for service

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Over 80 arrest

On September 8, 2018, at approximately 2:42 a.m., Guelph Police were conducting a RIDE program near the downtown core.  At this time, a male driver went through the program and was administered a Roadside Screening Device.  The male failed the device and was arrested for Over 80.

Marc-Andre FERLAND, a 38-year-old Cambridge male was also charged with Having Open Liquor in a Vehicle and Failing to have an Insurance Card.  FERLAND is scheduled to appear in court on September 25, 2108.

Break and Enter arrest

On September 8, 2018, at approximately 8:06 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a business compound on Governors Road in regard to a Break and Enter in progress.  Several units attended to the area as well as K9 was called in to assist with the search for the responsible party.

As a result of the coordinated effort, a male was arrested for Beak and Enter.  Steven BOYCE, a 43 year old Guelph male was also charged with Possession of Break-In Instruments.  BOYCE appeared in court on September 9, 2018.

Theft from residence arrest

On September 9, 2018 at approximately 11:50 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a residence on Elizabeth Street in regard to package that was stolen off of the front porch.

Through investigation a male was identified and on September 10, 2018, Joel BELL, a 32-year-old Guelph male was arrested for Theft Under $5000 as well as breaching his Probation Order.  BELL is scheduled to appear in court on October 16, 2018.
