Guelph Police dealt with 1,051 calls for service over the weekend

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Vehicles damaged
On Sept. 22, 2018 at approximately 2:50 a.m., Guelph Police were called to a business on Woodlawn Road West in regard to vehicles that were damaged. Police arrived on scene and learned that two vehicles had been damaged in the parking lot.

One vehicle had the windshield smashed out and the other vehicle had paint damage as well as the side mirror ripped off. Damage to the vehicles exceeded $3,000.

Assault investigation
On Sept. 22, 2018 at approximately 3:05 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a plaza at Clair Road and Gordon Street in regard to an altercation involving three males.

Police learned that a road rage incident began in Aberfoyle and ended in a physical altercation at the plaza on Gordon Street and Clair Road.

Robbery investigation
On Sept. 22, 2018 at approximately 5:52 p.m., Guelph Police were called to a plaza at Edinburgh Road and Stone Road in regard to a robbery.

Police learned that a group of males approached another group of males and a physical altercation occurred. As a result, two males received minor injuries and a cell phone was taken from one of the victims. The responsible males left the area in a vehicle.

From 6 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 until 6 a.m., Monday Sept. 24, Guelph Police dealt with 1,051 calls for service.
