On Oct. 11, 2019 at approximately 10:50 p.m., police attempted to stop a motorcycle, on Woolwich near London, for a Highway Traffic Act infraction. The driver of the motorcycle failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Police did not pursue the motorcycle for the safety of the public and the driver.

In this case, the police officer recognized the driver of the motorcycle prior to attempting the traffic stop. Police then attended to his residence, where the driver and motorcycle were located.

A 56-year-old Guelph male was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and breaching his probation order under the Criminal Code. He was further charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
