Motorist charged with driving more than twice the speed limit

In the evening of Aug. 7, 2019 Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit engaged in a proactive speed enforcement initiative in Guelph’s east end including locations on Woodlawn Road East, Watson Parkway North, and Grange Road.

As a result of the initiative, 10 charges were laid, including a stunt driving charge after a 20-year-old motorist was observed travelling 114 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Grange Road.

Stunt driving comes with an immediate seven-day driver’s licence suspension, and a seven-day motor vehicle impoundment.
