Multi-vehicle collision leads to serious injuries and impaired driving charges

On Oct. 24, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Wellington Road 125 north of Acton. Initial reports indicated that two sedans had collided and occupants had sustained serious injuries.

OPP and emergency services responded and a female driver was transported with serious injuries to a trauma centre. Officers formed the opinion that the second driver was under the influence of alcohol and was transported to a local hospital.

As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Lee Plunkett, 27-years old of Acton, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance, impaired operation - 80 plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) and impaired operation cause bodily harm. A 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on Nov. 26, 2021.
