Name released in Saturday's fatal collision

Another driver suffered life-altering injuries and remains in hospital in serious condition

TOWN OF ERIN - On Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Halton Hills Fire Department, Halton Region Paramedic Services and Halton Regional Police Service responded to a fatal collision involving two motor vehicles on the Halton-Erin Townline, near Acton. 

A Dodge minivan and Kia SUV collided head on. The driver of the Kia, 37-year-old Said Saleh from Brampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Dodge, a 20-year-old male from Markdale, suffered life-altering injuries and remains in hospital in serious condition.

The cause of the collision is being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI).
