Nap time leads to charges for two drivers

Both drivers were found asleep at the wheel

At approximately 3:55 a.m. on Dec. 16, police received information of a suspected impaired driver on Stone Road. Police located a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck parked and running in a lot off Stone Road and the driver was asleep at the wheel. When the driver was finally awoken, interaction with him led police to believe that he was impaired by alcohol. He was apprehended and testing at the station registered alcohol levels above the legal limit.

John William Thompson, 19 years of age from Mount Albert, Ont., was charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and care and control of a motor vehicle – over 80mgs. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Police located the vehicle and when the driver was finally awoken, interaction with him led police to believe that he was impaired by alcohol. He was apprehended and testing at the station registered alcohol levels above the legal limit.

Joshua Curran, 21 years of age from Mount Albert, Ont., was charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle and care and control of a motor vehicle – over 80mgs. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
