A Guelph male faces weapons and break and enter charges following a neighbour dispute.

Guelph police were called to a west end neighbourhood Oct. 13 after a resident reported his neighbour had come onto his property with a knife. Both parties were identified and spoken to at that time.

Subsequent investigation alleges one of the males had approached his neighbour’s house with a 10-centimetre knife in his hand and tried to get inside by turning the door handle and pushing on the door. He later reportedly threw items including lawn furniture and food scraps over the fence into his neighbour’s yard. These interactions were captured on surveillance video.

A 27-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, break and enter and mischief. He will appear in a Guelph court November 30, 2021.
