No injuries after elderly female drives into parked excavator

An elderly female avoided injury Thursday after a collision with a parked excavator, report Guelph police

Approximately 4:30 p.m. were called to a collision in the area of Woolwich Street and Clarence Street. A motor vehicle was being driven on a private laneway when it entered traffic and collided with a pickup truck, then continued onto private property where it collided with a chain link fence and excavator.

An ambulance from Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service attended to assess the driver, but no injuries were reported. An 82-year-old Guelph female was charged with failing to yield under the Highway Traffic Act.
