A Guelph male faces assault and weapons charges after a noise dispute on Sunday.

On Monday, a resident in the area of Stephanie Drive and Deerpath Drive called Guelph police to report an altercation a day earlier with his basement tenant. On Sunday evening the two males were outside arguing about noise from each other’s units when the tenant went inside and came back out with a 15-centimetre knife, which he held in front of him while approaching the victim.

The victim was able to get safely inside and was not injured.

A 36-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He will appear in a Guelph court June 15.
